ABSTRACT
본 연구는 10～18개월 영아의 의사소통행동에 대한 어머니의 언어행동 및 언어 수반성의 경향과 어휘력 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기지역에 거주하고 있는 10～18개월 영아와 어머니 86쌍이었다. 어머니의 언어행동은 Masur, Flynn과 Lloyd(2013)의 분석기준에 따르되 기능에 따른 분류를 보완하였다. 어머니 언어 수반성은 선행하는 영아의 의사소통행동에 대해 후행하는 어머니의 지지적 언어에 대한 Yule’s Q 지수를 근거로 분석하였다. 영아의 어휘력은 MCDI-K(The MacArthur Communicative Development Inventory-Korea)를 사용하여 측정하였다. 코딩은 The Observer XT 13.0를 사용하였으며, 분석은 SPSS 23.0을 사용하여 일원변량분석, 상관계수 및 부분상관계수를 적용하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 영아 의사소통에 대한 어머니의 언어행동은 영아의 월령 집단에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 영아의 월령이 낮은 집단의 어머니가 지지적 언어를 가장 많이, 오래 사용하였다. 둘째, 영아 의사소통행동에 대한 어머니의 언어 수반성은 영아 월령 집단에 따라 유의한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 영아의 월령 집단에 따라 어머니의 언어행동과 영아의 어휘력과의 관계는 다르게 나타났다. 마지막으로, 영아의 월령통제 시 어머니의 언어 수반성은 영아 어휘력과 다소 약한 상관이 나타났다. 이를 토대로 본 연구는 영아의 의사소통행동에 대한 어머니의 언어행동 및 언어 수반성의 중요성을 밝히고, 부모교육의 시사점을 제공하였다.
This study investigated the relationship between mother's verbal behavior and contingency on infant communication behavior and vocabulary. The subjects were 86 pairs of 10～18 months infants and their mothers. Mother's verbal behaviors were classified according to their functions. The contingency of mother's verbal response was analyzed on the basis of Yule's Q index. Interactions were recorded using The Observer XT 13.0, and analyzed by calculating correlation coefficient and one-way ANOVA using SPSS 23.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, mother's verbal behaviors were significantly different according to the age group. Second, there was no significant difference in the contingency of mother's verbal behaviors according to the age group. Third, the relationship between mother's verbal behaviors and infant vocabulary varied according to the age group. Fourth, when the infant's age was controlled, the mothers' verbal responses were partially related to infant’s vocabulary. The contingency of mothers' verbal response to the infant's communicative gaze and utterance was significantly related to infant’s vocabulary skills. In conclusion, the infant communication behaviors and the mother's verbal behaviors vary according to the age of infants. The relationship between the mother's verbal behaviors and the infant vocabulary was different according to the age group, and the contingency of the mother’s verbal response was related to the infant's vocabulary regardless of the infant's age.
